What Is a Normal Green Coffee Bean Extract Dose?
No dose of green coffee bean extract is proven to work, but the NIH says up to 200 mg a day seems safe for 12 weeks. SodaSlim has 130 mg per capsule, which is 65% of that figure. It is a reference point, not a study dose, and the capsule also holds 138 mg of caffeine.

What is the usual dose of green coffee bean extract?
There is no proven usual dose. The one figure the NIH gives is that up to 200 mg a day seems safe for 12 weeks (NIH ODS, Weight loss supplements (consumers)).
That is a comfort level, not a target. It says nothing about what dose helps, because no source we read shows that the extract helps in a way you could count on.
The best review pooled only three trials, all at high risk of bias (Onakpoya 2011, Green coffee extract meta-analysis). We could not confirm the daily doses those trials used, so we do not quote any.
How does 130 mg compare with that reference?
One capsule is 65% of the 200 mg reference. The label prints 130 mg, and 130 divided by 200 is 0.65.
| Measure | Figure |
|---|---|
| Extract per capsule | 130 mg |
| Chlorogenic acids at 50% | About 65 mg |
| NIH reference, 12 weeks | Up to 200 mg a day |
| Share of the reference | 65% |
| Verified study dose | None found |
Why is 130 mg not a study dose?
Because no study tested this capsule. A dose from a trial of one extract does not carry over to a finished product with four other active lines.
The FTC says research on an ingredient does not automatically support a finished product, since the dose, the formula and the mix must all match (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance).

See packsDoes a higher dose mean a better result?
No. The NIH says side effects are most likely at high doses or when many supplements are combined (NIH ODS, Dietary Supplements: What You Need to Know). More is not safer, and the label says not to exceed the recommended dose.
Ask a doctor or pharmacist first if you take medicine. Keep taking what you were prescribed. See the how to take it page for the routine.

FAQ01
SodaSlim questions people ask
How much green coffee extract per day is safe?
The NIH says up to 200 mg a day seems safe for 12 weeks (NIH ODS, Weight loss supplements (consumers)). That is for the extract alone. SodaSlim adds 138 mg of caffeine in the same capsule, so ask your clinician before using it with other caffeine.
Is 130 mg of green coffee bean extract a high dose?
It is below the 200 mg reference, at 65% of it. It is not a studied dose for weight, because no verified one exists. Whether it suits you depends on your health and your other caffeine.
Can I take green coffee bean extract on top of coffee?
You can, but add up the caffeine. The FDA's guide is about 400 mg a day for most healthy adults, and one capsule is 138 mg before your cups (FDA, Spilling the beans: how much caffeine is too much).
