Dr Oz, Shark Tank and SodaSlim: Is Any Celebrity Endorsement Real?

Quick answer

Does Dr Oz endorse SodaSlim? No endorsement is known to us. We also know of no Shark Tank deal, TV segment or magazine coverage for SodaSlim, a 30-capsule supplement with 138 mg caffeine per capsule. Ads sometimes use famous names without permission, so check any claim against the person's own channels.

The direct answer01

Does Dr Oz endorse SodaSlim?

No, not that we know of. We have found no sign that Dr Oz, or any TV doctor, recommends SodaSlim, and the label and the sales page we read name none.

That matters because "dr oz sodaslim" is a common search. People type it after seeing a banner, a video or a post that uses a famous face. If such an ad says a TV doctor backs these capsules, treat it as unproven until the person says so on their own channel.

SodaSlim is a dietary supplement in capsules, not a drink. It has five printed lines. The label says it is a supplement and that its statements were not evaluated by the FDA. It makes no claim about any celebrity.

Our rule

We do not write "as seen on" for SodaSlim, and we do not imply coverage. If a real endorsement appears, we will say who, where and whether they were paid.

Ads vs facts02

What do celebrity ads for weight pills say, and what can you check?

Celebrity ads lean on trust. Each common line has a way to check it, and most take under five minutes.

The FTC says an endorsement must reflect the endorser's honest experience, and that payments or free product must be disclosed clearly (FTC, Endorsement Guides: what people are asking). Its 2024 rule also covers fake reviews and testimonials, including celebrity ones (FTC, Final rule banning fake reviews).

Common celebrity claims and how to test them.
What an ad saysWhat you can check
"Dr Oz recommends it"Search the doctor's own site and verified accounts for the product name. No match, no endorsement.
"Seen on Shark Tank"Look for the company on the show's official pages. An ad is not a source.
"As seen on TV"Find the network, show and date. Real coverage names all three.
"Featured in a magazine"Open the magazine's own site. Look-alike news pages are a known trick (FTC, Pure Green Coffee fake-news-site case).
"Famous star lost weight with it"Ask who said so, where, and whether they were paid. No name means no claim.
"Doctor formulated"Look for a name. The SodaSlim badge names no doctor.

Claims vs evidence03

What does the evidence say about the claims SodaSlim does make?

The label and sales page make their own claims, with no celebrity attached. Weigh them against research, not fame.

The label's three lines end in asterisks and are structure and function phrases (FDA, Structure/function claim notification). The sales page says caffeine "immediately awakens the metabolism" and that raspberry ketone brings "accelerated reduction in body fat" (SodaSlim sales page). We quote them to test them. No study tested SodaSlim, and the NIH says there is little scientific evidence that weight-loss supplements work (NIH ODS, Weight loss supplements (consumers)).

  1. Label frontSupports Craving Control & Satiety*No source shows these five together change hunger. Appetite and fullness were unaffected in the garcinia trial the NIH describes. (NIH ODS, Dietary Supplements for Weight Loss (health professionals)) (NCCIH, Garcinia cambogia)
  2. Label frontPromotes Energy Production From Fat*Caffeine nudged lab markers of fat metabolism in a 94-study review, not body weight. (Meta-analysis, Does caffeine increase fat metabolism?)
  3. Label frontHelps Support Healthy Weight Management*Reviews find average differences of about 1 kg or less, and the NIH says there is little scientific evidence that weight-loss supplements work. (NIH ODS, Weight loss supplements (consumers)) (UNC / Obesity 2021, Review of weight-loss supplements)
  4. Sales page, quoted"immediately awakens the metabolism"Not supported as an outcome in people by the sources found; caffeine is a stimulant. (Meta-analysis, Does caffeine increase fat metabolism?) (SodaSlim sales page)
  5. Sales page, quoted"accelerated reduction in body fat" (raspberry ketone)The sources found say the effect of raspberry ketone on weight is unknown. (NIH ODS, Weight loss supplements (consumers)) (Rao 2021, Raspberry ketone review) (SodaSlim sales page)
  6. Sales page, quoted"enhances internal fat oxidation" (green tea)Reviews found little or no weight effect from green tea extract. (Cochrane, Green tea for weight loss (Jurgens)) (SodaSlim sales page)

Label-front lines are printed on the bottle. Sales-page lines are the seller's own wording, shown in quotes and examined, not endorsed. Health claims need competent and reliable scientific evidence, generally human trials of the same product (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance).

TV and Shark Tank04

Is SodaSlim as seen on TV or on Shark Tank?

We know of no TV segment or Shark Tank appearance for SodaSlim. Neither the label nor the sales page we read claims one.

A deal on a TV show is public. The show, the season and the investor are easy to find. If an ad hints at one and gives none of these, ask why.

The NIDDK lists before-and-after photos and endorsements among warning signs when they come with fast-loss promises (NIDDK, Choosing a safe and successful weight-loss program). A famous face is a reason to check, not a reason to buy.

  1. Find the source

Look for the original clip or post on the person's own verified channel.

  2. Check the disclosure

Paid or free-product posts should say so near the claim (FTC, Endorsement Guides: what people are asking).

  3. Compare with the label

Read what is in the capsule on the supplement facts page.

Before you act05

What should you do if an ad uses a celebrity to sell SodaSlim?

Do not order from the ad. Read the label first, ask your doctor or pharmacist, then use the order button on this site if you decide to buy.

Fake news pages and paid endorsers are a documented tactic in other weight-loss cases (FTC, Pure Green Coffee fake-news-site case). Report a fake endorsement to the person named and to the platform that ran the ad.

The caffeine line is 138 mg, 34.5% of the FDA's 400 mg guide (FDA, Spilling the beans: how much caffeine is too much). Ask first with a heart condition, anxiety, pregnancy, nursing or any medicine. Keep taking prescribed medicine. Chest pain, fainting or yellow skin or eyes need care now.

  • Screenshot the ad and the date before it disappears.
  • Check the price and the guarantee terms on the live checkout. We print no price.

FAQ06

SodaSlim questions people ask

Did Dr Oz promote SodaSlim?

We found no sign of it. No endorsement from Dr Oz or any TV doctor appears on the label or the sales page we read. An ad that says otherwise should name the show, the date and the source.

Is SodaSlim on Shark Tank?

We know of no Shark Tank deal for SodaSlim. A real appearance is public, with a season and episode. Ask any ad that mentions the show to point to it.

Is Soda Slim as seen on TV?

We know of no TV coverage. Neither the label nor the sales page claims any. A real segment names the network, the show and the date.

Can an ad use a celebrity without permission?

It happens. Fake endorsements and look-alike news pages have been used to sell supplements (FTC, Pure Green Coffee fake-news-site case). The FTC's rule on fake reviews also covers celebrity testimonials (FTC, Final rule banning fake reviews).

How can I check if a celebrity really endorses a supplement?

Look on the person's own verified site or account for the product name. Check for a paid-partnership disclosure (FTC, Endorsement Guides: what people are asking). If you find nothing, treat the claim as unproven.

Does a doctor formulated badge mean a doctor backs SodaSlim?

Not by itself. The badge is seller artwork and names no doctor. We cannot say who formulated the capsules.

Does a famous name prove SodaSlim works?

No. Fame is not evidence. The NIH says there is little scientific evidence that weight-loss supplements work (NIH ODS, Weight loss supplements (consumers)), and no study tested SodaSlim.
